REVIEW // Lancome Galateis Douceur & Tonique Eclat

LANCOME

Galateis Douceur Gentle Cleansing Fluid  & Tonique Eclat Clarifying Exfoliating Toner

Lancome was found in 1935, one thing I never knew was that it became a subsidiary of L'Oreal in the 1960s.  Prices of their products are like $31 for nail polish, so when you buy their products, you hope that they are different from everything else in the market.

I always hoped that I could be the face of something but I'm just a regular person so why not pose for fun instead :).

These are the two (in 400ml bottles).

'Galateis Douceur' Gentle Cleansing Fluid

Price: $99 for 400ml
          $69 for 200ml

Origin: France

Claims: "Water-light lotion...removes even the most stubborn makeup. Foundation, blush, mascara and lipstick all dissolve and disappear on contact. Leaves skin...soft and supple...extremely gentle formula can even be used to remove eye makeup."

Directions: "Apply to the face with circular movements then remove with a cotton pad."

Ingredients:
It does contain mineral oil so be aware if you're allergic to it.

Specs/Features: (the version I've got) comes in a 20cm tall bottle

Initial thoughts: I thought the formula would smell milky/creamy and that the packaging was nice.

Final thoughts: The formula has an un-describable (not like a fruit or anything common) feminine     fragrant scent to it, it's smells unnatural that way but some people may really like it. It does remove     makeup well if you use circular motions. I decided to compared it  to "Maybelline's Express Care Eye & Lip Makeup Remover" H E R E

To Summarise:

Pros: ✽ It's gentle on your skin
The pump is really easy to use
✽ The formula is really light
✽  Packaging is true to the amount of product inside (the inside isn't filled with plastic)

Cons: ✽ I don't prefer the smell as much
✽ The price is in the upper end but that's a given

Results from a little bit of wiping

Personal Rating: 2.5/5

'Tonique Eclat' Clarifying Exfoliating Toner

Price: $61 for 400ml

Origin: France

Claims: "An Incredibly cool sensation relieves all skin types from the feel of daily impurities", "Light and highly active lotion evenly and efficiently exfoliates as it thoroughly wipes the dead cells from the skin."

Directions: "Apply liberally to two cotton rounds, then, with one in each hand, pat the surface of the skin..."

Ingredients:

Specs/Features: (the version I've got) comes in a 18cm tall bottle

Initial thoughts: I was expecting the toner to be really light and freshening.

Final thoughts: The toner was really light and freshening but the smell is comparable to nail polish remover (if you smell it straight from the bottle), once rubbed in, it smells like a floral perfume and a minute later the scent smells more like a natural flower. I like the packaging and how easily the lid screws on and off.

I use this effectively by using a cotton pad and wiping my face with pressure. A lot of dirt builds up onto the pad even after I've already cleansed my face.

To Summarise:

Pros: ✽ Gets rid of dead skin cells and dirt effectively
✽ The formula is really refreshing to your skin
✽ When you rub the product in, it smells like natural flower
          Contains natural flower extract

Cons: ✽ When you sniff the product directly from the bottle it smells like acetone
          ✽ The price again
✽ If you get tissue or dust in the bottle, it's like when you get food in your water bottle - sad :(

Personal Rating: 4/5
