February 2015

Feb 2 0 1 5

Now that I remember, February was the month before uni started again! I actually felt excited to start again because I changed universities and I wanted a different atmosphere... In 2014, I was doing some science degree at Sydney Uni. I entered the degree because I wanted to complete the subjects required to get into Dental school. However, after working as a Dental Assistant for a few months, I felt like being a dentist was much more lonely and boring than I expected it to be. I even studied for the admissions test :((((.

When I completed my first year of that degree, I never thought about changing degrees (because I felt like it would be a 'waste' of a whole year). As March 2015 was approaching, I felt REALLY sad at the thought of going back to study science (which was harder than I expected). So - I applied to change my degree after the main round (which meant that most courses were filled up). That meant that pretty much all the degrees at Sydney Uni were filled up, so I knew that I was going to have to start at another university all over again! During February, I found out that I got into UNSW which was really nice because a close high school friend and my brother go to UNSW. It's now April when I'm writing this up! But I'm really happy with my degree as I get to do commerce/business subjects and learn 2 languages (Korean and Japanese).

Here were a couple of videos/songs that I liked in February.

1) When I was on youtube, an ad for this movie called 'Ode to My Father' played before the video. I cried when I saw it because I thought of the sacrifices that both my parents made when moving to Australia. I screen-shot the ad with the intention of watching the movie after semester 1 finishes. It's not something that I'd usually watch, but I'm looking forward to an emotional movie.

Usually I would have a video, but Blogger is still having issues with putting videos in so here's a link: Ode To My Father Trailer

2) My friend recommended me to watch a Korean drama 'To The Beautiful You'. Because I was so bored, I thought why not. The series was a perfectl mix of weird, funny and cute! I don't know SNSD songs but this song on the drama was really cute Closer - To The Beautiful You. The plot was so good, I finished all the episodes in less than a week, haha.

3) Anddddd Skillrex and Diplo did a collaboration Justin Bieber and I actually like the song! Skrillex and Diplo - Where Are Ü Now (feat. Justin Bieber)

...

Love these! I tried making these: You put peanut butter in between two slices of banana, dip it in dark chocolate, and then put it in the freezer for a while.

After a really cool 19th Birthday for (my friend) Claire, I ended up with (my friend) Lisa randomly taking pictures in front of the Harbour Bridge. The 19th Birthday party was awesome because Claire booked a stunning magic show which came with food such as the creme brulee (above).

Some of the cooking above is my mum's (the fish and the beans) BUT the holidays were pretty fun 'cause I made vegetable roast, blended broccoli and potato soup (which is soooo good), and agedashi buckwheat soba noodles. Frickin proud!

My dad's Valentines day set-up for my mum...

Gotta love Chinese New Year :)!

And shopping because my Auntie's baby was due soon (It's April now, so my cute baby cousin is already born!). My mum said that I have bad taste in baby clothes. Now that I think of it, I probably do.

I finish typing my February blog post here, of a photo I took when me and my mum were going back to Macquarie Centre to collect my wallet (that was lost and found), a few days before she went on a 7 week trip to America.

BYEEEEE!!
