  Ultracalming: Redness Relief

Origin: USA // Dermalogica

Claims: "Natural earth minerals provide a sheer green tint to actively counter telltale redness..."

Directions: "Apply prior to sun exposure. Smooth over cleansed skin daily to neutralize redness..."

Extra information from the website:

"After cleansing and toning, apply gently to face, allowing a small amount of green tint to remain slightly visible on skin."

Ingredients: The box was chucked out so I found information on the site.

Consistency:
Specs/Features: This silky tint comes in a 12cm tall x 4.5cm wide (at the top) tube.

Thoughts: The product has a bit of a clay-like smell as well as a very subtle mint - the smell of the product is not that strong. The tube is really easy to control and squeeze how much you want out of it - this is good because you only need a very small amount of product. If you don't rub the product in too hard, and wait about a minute, your face experiences reduced redness. I can use it as a primer or as moisturiser alone. I tend to use this after I've popped pimples and washed my face because the product reduces the redness and inflammation. I did hear that the product dries out your face but I don't feel that way - Because it can make your face a bit green, I think if you use the right amount and spread it where you need it, the product works.

On the website, I saw a skin therapist recommend that if you didn't like the green tint, you could mix it in with another product to dilute it.

To summarise:

Pros:   The smell is very, very subtle
✽ The pointed tube is easy to control the amount of product you want
✽ You can use it as a primer, moisturiser and after popping pimples
✽ Reduces redness + inflammation of skin
            Very little product is needed
Ideal for: people with sensitive/red skin or rosacea (chronic skin inflammation)

Cons:  The retail price is high
The green tint may be a bit strong, especially if you need to use a lot

Personal rating: 3/5 (I don't have irritated skin and don't see much need for it)

* a similar product is L'oreal's Magic Skin Beautifier, it is a BB cream but it works really well for anti-redness too.

Extra pictures:

I really like the easy design of the tube.
Information on the back of the tube.
This is the pointed applicator I was talking about.

Thank you for visiting,

Sincerely, Skin™
