November 2014 Diary

Some of my favourite videos this month, 2014

It's the 30th of November and I'm overwhelmed by how fast the month went by :O, looking back, I finished exams and that's about it. It is also a few days till I turn 19. Not too big a number, "just" another year gone by...

November has been pretty eventful, new albums, the AMAs (America) and the ARIAs (Australia). Here are (some of) my favourite videos from November.

1) Have a close listen to the lyrics, it's a chill song that tells a story and is repeat-worthy.

2) Currently over 6M views, is Taylor Swift lip-syncing to Blank Space with Greg James from BBC Radio 1. I just really loved it.

3) The promo for S4's episode 9 of Revenge.

4) Selena Gomez performing 'The Heart Wants What It Wants' at the AMAs. :')

I didn't really, have much time to check out much 'cause I finished exams last week and am on hiatus.

Things I Got Up To

I just changed my URL to SincerelySkin.blogspot.com and I'm still not too happy with the name. It takes effort to change URLs and re-customise the HTML. This is my November rewind from start to finish.

Mini hangout with my mum at Macquarie Centre (Sydney) for the first time, I don't really understand the hype with H&M but my mum snagged a navy dress for my sister which looked decent. After a bit of shopping we felt hungry. If you walk down the food court, face KFC and look to the right, there's a cute Thai restaurant! In the past, I've had Thai food with the family many times and nothing stood out. But 'Drunk Noodles' at the centre (which can be vegetarian/with chicken) have become my favourite dish. Just like Thai food should be, the dish is balanced with the right amount of sweet and sour (with spice).

This was the only thing I bought for myself. A ($79.95) bag from ZARA's 'Trafaluc' range that I thought was really cute but, it's limited edition.

Meet 'Mimi' - the daughter of our family's Coton de Tulear and my cousin's Toy Poodle. I'm super gutted that we had to give her away :( We just had too many pets (over the council's legal limit).

The ultimate smoothie: Combine frozen yogurt/vanilla ice-cream with mango nectar. Then use A LOT of green tea powder with a little bit of boiling water (just enough to dissolve the powder). If you don't have powder, extract a lot of green tea. Blend it all together. Yum :)

Had lunch at 'SushiHub' - my go-to sushi stop. It was my friend Karen's Birthday treat but I forgot to bring the present (stupid me). That day was the last day of lectures at Uni. Everyday after was to be stressful procrastination with a little bit of inefficient study in between. So I relaxed by doing things here and there and forced myself to sit down and study afterwards. Also THANK YOU dad for buying Danone Greek yogurt - hands down the best!

Before me and Laura went to watch "ANNABELLE" a friend, Shirley was telling me on Watsapp about how she hates dolls and that watching Annabelle scared her. About 2 minutes later, my cupboard (that I haven't opened in a month) randomly opened, and my old Barbie fell out - one of the biggest coincidences in my life from memory. The movie itself made my heart palpitate with the suspense created by the sound effects and all... never watching it again.

A few days later, that was when the puppy 'Mimi' was given away. That made November quite sad.

I managed to get the VICE 2 palette as a really belated Birthday gift for my friend Claire. I basically had to do the "look but don't touch" thing.

Other things that arrived in the mail were my sunglasses from Gentle Monster which I did a post on. As well as some lip tint from Etude House. One for my brother's girlfriend.

The next day or two #AlexFromTarget trended worldwide (on twitter). If you don't know who he is you can watch him on Ellen HERE

Ever read fanfiction? Read this:

Fanfiction are imaginary stories that fans write. They mainly get posted on a site called 'Wattpad'. I found this on twitter and it was so weird, I laughed.

I guess then, my sister decided to decorate the Christmas tree and dress Lu up in a red shirt and hey - we noticed a resemblance to Alex from Target. 2014 also became the first year we've had a white Christmas tree. One of the presents underneath was a circle wrapped with a metal handle sticking out. It was kinda obvious that it was a frying pan for our mum. I picked it up and talked to my sister who bought it and said "Hmmm, I wonder what this is" and my embarrassed sister said "Shutup, I'll whack you with the pan". The obvious-present was so funny that my older brother unknowingly told me the same joke a few days later.

I decided to take one of those in-my-pouch pictures. The voyage palette wasn't even in my cosmetic bag but it just fit the picture. The palette is Lancome's Absolu Voyage palette in the limited 'Blossom edition' that my mum gave me. The pink circle is a melting foundation from Innisfree - it contains swirls inside (it costs $4o in the city but I got it cheaper on-line). The green bottle is Innisfree's mini Apple make up remover ($1.50). The gold-lidded tube is Tony Moly's Pomegranate Jelly Tint ($16.50). Then there's the little Vaseline Lip Therapy tub in Cocoa Butter ($2.50 but so small). The raspberry-coloured circle is EOS's Pomegranate Raspberry lip balm ($6). Below it, is C.O Bigelow's Ultra Mentha Lip Shine which cost $17.50 in Japan and uniquely tastes like toothpaste. The hand cream is from Daiso Australia ($2.80). Finally, the pouch was free from innisfreeworld.com when you spend over $70USD.

Eventually, with exams still to tick off, I helped my brother with a ""bit"" of room cleaning. Shocked by his shoe collection which reigned over mine.

Having finished my PSYC1002 exam, there was time to study for the next (or chill). There's Brownie, our dog being combed by my dad after a shower. I was then studying and my mum was happily cleaning up the mess she made in my room. She even tried on my hat :).

Even though I had so many lectures to catch up on, I just had to do my duties because life is more important to me than academics. I even had the time to start a new IG page which includes pictures of skincare and make up --> @WorldOfSkinCare.

Having finished the irrelevant ECOP1003 exam, on a Tuesday morning, I was tired but went to study with Lisa, the friend I hang out with the most from high school, we go to Uni together so I'm grateful for that. Days on end till the last exam, I studied till mornings. Pictured on the right, that ball of fur is my cousin's dog Mina who came over, so it was nice to have study company.

I don't know if this happens to everyone, but when I'm at home, people call me to do things like "bring in the clothes from the backyard", or "take the fish outta the freezer so it can thaw"... my older brother always asks about his parcels and I had to send him pictures this time he bought boots for dad and his shoes. Sometimes it's interesting to see what guys buy.

Excited: Feeling happy yet strange that I finished exams on the 22nd which was a Saturday. These were one of the exams that only test a few concepts - the last few chapters of a textbook that were brushed over - I felt pissed that I unnecessarily studied the other chapters but didn't cover the important ones. Fingers crossed that I did okay!

Later me and the best person that I met at Uni just decided to hop on the bus and head to Market City to get some sushi. I was so hungry and am right now as I'm writing this past 2am :(

With exams finished, I was sleep-deprived and have I slept till the afternoon for many days. Shout-out to mum for always cooking good food. I love spring roll noodles :-). Cleaning my clothes cupboard and room, I felt it was time to sell my bracelet that I once got for a very good price. This is the old edition Cartier Love bracelets. NEVER pay the full price for expensive items! Try them in-store (if you can) and buy them on-line. Sites like The Real Real will knock prices off the RRP.

Touched down: One Direction flew to Australian shores to perform Steal My Girl at the ARIAs. Me? Too tired to stalk but enjoying them on TV as they won Best International Artist.

Before Novembr, I've never bought anything on ASOS for myself. There was an extra 30% off sale so I was bothered to scroll through. I just find a website with too many items annoying but these were some of what I got.

Me and Lisa went to Macquarie Centre. I didn't get Drunk Noodles :( But I had Paparotti ice cream. Strangely, I tried something new and liked rose water, and the strawberry flavour they had. Paparotti is a franchise (?) that sells Malaysian food. I tried these on at ZARA, soo comfortable but too lax. I already had funny Birks on so the top and jeans were too rugged-like.

Playing LINE PLAY: the app is pretty fun. You can earn gems, spend them on your house, clothes, gacha machines, meet avatars around the world and play games etc.

Fascinated: I took photos of our garden during Spring. It is almost 4am, and it is the 1st of December. Summer has begun, enjoy xx.
